a silver metal fork pierces a pear
citrus fiber on pink tongue
a family of wooden hangers
sandy brown & polished
await the weight of freshly ironed linen
lilac bunches of sea lavender
hang upside down by jute threads
drying, dying, drowning
in acidic air
mother & twin daughters
in two white pots, growing
despite the lack of sun
ceramic mug cradles
amber tea, steam spirals
on a winter’s breath
sapphire blue ink
bleeds onto paper, tracing
dreams sketched in delicate lines
crimson apples in a woven basket
rest on the counter,
glossy skins reflecting
the morning's first light
silent clock ticks, ivory hands gliding,
marking the passage of moments
too fleeting to hold.

I still love poetry. Reading & writing. I love finding new poems and feeling like it was meant to be read by me. I have even written a few poems for my Substack friends. Here they are:

i felt peace wash over me as I read this
Yes, these are ordinary things, but one should pay attention to the language to describe them that is not, in any way, ordinary. Good poem!
