Oh, my goodness! If this poem doesn't reflect me! Still wearing the same weathered cowboy boots I found 2nd hand in college (30 years ago!!) and I LOVE THEM! Feeling the same with clothes and just as happy! I do love when I come to a poem, and its writer, reflecting my own sentiments. Be who we are and be comfortable and confident in it! Love you, Mo! Blessings, ~Wendy💜
Beautifully penned. Loved how you wrote about hair, mine are always a bird's nest😭. Also, love the picture, the head scarf, you really bring in such sober fashion sense. Now i want to buy a scarf as well!
Loved your poem! My hair is really a mess! I can't do anything with it! I have a perm but it's growing out! I should get another perm but I'm trying to grow my hair again! Sometimes I like it long, sometimes a little shorter! And for clothes, I wear comfortable, sort of stretchy pants that I order online and tees that I also order online! Pants I order from Full Beauty (I wear a plus size) and tees , most are from Zazzle (I like men's sizes). But I do have other more feminine tops from Full Beauty. Shoes? Can't wear regular shoes! My feet are too wide due to swelling! My foot doctor ordered my shoes but this last time they didn't fit so I took them back! They were tight! And I wear men's slippers at home or I go barefoot! Well, Teddy is sleeping next to me, on the arm of my recliner while my legs are up with my Lympha Press compression boots! Must go now. I have to reset my machine. I forgot I unplugged it yesterday to use the cord for the vacuum! I guess the timer screwed up!
'periwinkles tucked into pockets,' what a gorgeous image. My teen is going to her first disco soon and apparently the dress code is a short dress. She wants to wear jeans and a top, I really hope she doesn't give into the peer pressure. Thanks so much for mentioning my poem, I'm truly honoured 💛
Loved the poem and it resonated with me regarding the hair, since my last surgery it has taken on the role of a disobedient child. Keep up your great work Mohika
when you are your raw self, that's when you stand out. originality is anyway fading away so being rebellious about what we say, what we wear is the way to keep the originality afloat.

Great poem, Mo! Living on our own terms should be the ultimate aspiration.
