Hey Mohika, Very Good Evening

Just across this post of yours on dental health. Beautifully framed your experience along with rollercoaster of emotions you might have felt during the process. You won't believe, doctors have also advised me to do wisdom tooth surgery (total of 4) 2 yrs back. Its 2024, Back then I used medications to stop my pain and I haven't felt any pain after that. But whenever I imagine the feeling of wisdom teeth removal, I feel too scared and my nerves don't let me settle, constant overthinking at nights about pain, imagination of syringe piercing the gums, anesthesia will work or not etc. Its so great you put forward your emotions, feeling a bit calmer now, but still feeling fear if I have to do operation in future.

How do you really keep yourself with that feeling? Feeling overwhelmed sometimes!!

Hello Himanshu! Happy to find you here and to know that we share this experience. I absolutely freak out every time I think of a dentist visit (idk what it is! maybe a mix of everything from smell to how close the tools are to my nose and literally inside my mouth!) lucky for me, I have half a wisdom tooth out and it hurts sometimes and sometimes not. The other 3 have not yet come. Both my grandparents advise me to not get them removed (god forbid I lose my wisdom!! haha!) but I think when the time comes I will take the call that's best for me.

It might give you some relief to know that wisdom tooth extractions are fairly common and many people get it done early on while they're still young and can suffer a little bit! I'm grateful to have my sister & boyfriend who never leave my sight even if it's for a casual consultation. I hope you have the same support <3 Sending you all my best wishes!
