WONDERFUL. There's enough here for a long, long discussion about mindfulness and experience and the assumptions we are making (here in the stupid west) about what it means to seek, to see, to realize, to experience life. This is fantastic and you should flesh it out and get it published. There are journals specifically geared toward this kind of work. It needs to be read!

Dear Rebecca

I’ve been thinking about what you said regarding fleshing this piece out and submitting it to journals that focus on mindfulness, experience, and the different ways we see and seek in life.

Since you seem have a keen sense of where this work could belong, could I ask for your guidance? Do you have any journals, publications, or editors you’d recommend I look into?

I often write quickly and instinctively, so I’d love to experiment by going deep instead of broad. Thank you for your time & wisdom!!!

Mo

Mo, I didn’t have a particular journal in mind….but check out this piece—https://therumpus.net/2013/12/03/my-eyes-are-watching-god/

I have also published poetry here— https://psalteryandlyre.org/ read their description of what they what, and read a few pieces.

Also, I just did CHILL SUBS curated list. They will do all the work of tracking down journals for you. $75 for a list of 10.

You can also just google, which is much harder, or use Poets and Writers, Duotrope, New Pages Literary.

I imagine you eating the berries as you pick them and coming home with an empty bowl because you loved so in the moment.
