These "techniques" you share here--many of them are used in the states in DBT, a type of cognitive therapy. I have benefited so much from not "becoming" my emotions. I wish I had started when I was in school as a very young and very emotional girl.
Not now, yaar is going to be my new mantra! I haven’t been regular on Substack for the last few months but whenever I am here, I make sure to read your posts because they always offer something special!
Right now my brain is tired and anxious! And the days are getting warmer and warmer! I'm sitting under my ceiling fan while writing this comment! And Teddy? He disappeared again! My son was just here and he cleaned my fans in my bedroom and put in the screen for the balcony door! He also put the screen in my front door! So, I'm getting ready for summer but my brain might somewhat be trying to adapt!
Mo! You are a beautiful light and a centering force! I LOVE YOU FOR THAT!
Many blessings and MUCH LOVE,
~Wendy💜
So beautifully written!
As I read your post, I started wondering, do I do nice things for my brain?
That’s when I realized something: I always end my journal entries with my name and a few hearts. <3 <3
It’s like a thank-you I guess.
For enduring, for feeling overwhelmed or excited, and most of all for experiencing so much and still showing up.
Each small epoch matters.
And I think, in my own involuntary way, I’ve been honoring that.
Awww soo sweet dear Swathi! Ending with hearts 💓💓💓 thank you for sharing that!
Loved all the points!!!! ♥️ Doing nothing without feeling guilty is something I am seriously practising.
