Just because we can’t see something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist
Your destination lies over the mountain of fear, through the forest of doubt, and along the blessed river of hope.
A lone airplane drifting
in the night sky
bling blistering blobs
of red, green, yellow
against velvet gray hues
If I look at it long enough, the plane seems suspended, floating at a snail's pace in the sky. Obviously, it’s a hurling metal machine, but it doesn’t look like that from my bedroom window. I cannot feel this whale of a plane pass through sheets of loud, thundering drip-drop clouds because I’m here, lazily gazing out my glass world. I’m not the girl on the airplane, wishing upon a shooting star, witnessing glittering lightning, or clutching the seatbelt, hoping helplessly for a smooth landing.
Perspective.
Sometimes it seems like we’re not making progress despite doing so much. Like we’re stuck in the same spot in the swimming pool of life despite the kicks, strokes, and frantic paddles. People who watch us from outside the swimming pool would disagree.
When we’re hyper-focused on one thing, we can forget or lose track of other things. Like people with stinky armpits who don’t know they have stinky armpits. What I mean is, we don’t feel the 1% changes all the time. We live on this gorgeous planet and don’t feel it rotate or revolve. Doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Just because we can’t see something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
Trust to taste the fruit your labor reaps.
Relax. Allow. Rejoice. Accept.

See you there! I love you.
beautiful beautiful. The breath, love, thoughts, spirit... the invisible things. may we notice and feel so many layers and subtleties of existence.
What soul medicine this article was! I’ve been dealing with burnt out the past few years, and although my health has vastly improved, I deeply felt your words about paddling, paddling and never seeming to get anywhere. It’s caused me great frustration at times, and so reading that hit my heart, like ah, I’m not alone. But you’re so right - looking back at life over a long span of time, everything’s changed even though day to day, it can feel like nothing’s changed at all.
