Guess What? We Just Hit 500 Subscribers!
Looking at the glass half-full, that's half a thousand souls receiving this.
Somewhere between the start of October and now, we hit a beautiful milestone—500 of you in this space! It feels wild and a little surreal, like finding a new constellation in a sky I’ve been staring at forever. For those just joining, welcome; to those who’ve been around, you’re part of this story now. Thank you.
I don’t think I’ll ever be a writer who can give advice comfortably on writing/growth hacks/blah blah. Neither can I write about writing for a very long time. It’s not my scene and all I truly know is:
writing every day and building a habit helps
upskilling is an underrated dog
being honest > being the smartest in a room
My writing became consistent around the age of 17. Here’s a little mosaic of wins, losses, and the sometimes messy, always colorful things in between:
Published my first collect of poems The Road to Lemonade when I was in 11th grade. Now I'm 25 and haven't popped another book child yet. Guess I'm one of those it happens when it happens kind of poet lady? I also don’t have an editable softcopy of this because my publisher ghosted me.
Started College with a degree in Econ from LSE, thought I’d lean into stats—until I couldn’t stand another minute of it. Instead, I found the human side of economics, behavioral stuff, the stories behind numbers.
My first real job was in Dubai, doing Account-Based Marketing. Life there was sand dunes, city lights, and camping with my favorite people. It taught me to look beyond titles and just be.
Love? Heartbreak? Repeat. Thought I found my forever, and then suddenly didn’t. Tried serial dating like an anthropologist collecting stories, and ended up realizing I’m really just here to love and give deeply—polyamorous in spirit, I guess.
Launched my slow fashion brand, Purple Potato, in Sep’21. It was a little like planting a seed without knowing if it’d sprout; now we’re moving into a bigger warehouse!
The love of my life appeared when I least expected him to. He’s naughty, grounded, and my north star who pulls me back when I’m lost in constellations of my own making.
I found mountaintops and got bangs, fell in love with breathwork and yoga, and realized that spiritual growth isn’t a checklist. Life’s lessons show up unannounced and usually at the worst times.
I also learned that my truest impact isn’t in having all the answers but in showing up—with effort, with kindness, and, sometimes, just with a strong cup of coffee.
I donated my long locks this year on my 25th birthday to an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients. Giving more & more is the greatest joy for me. It’s why I work. It’s why all my posts here are completely free. There are other ways you can support my writing.
Since April ’24, I’ve been sharing big & small morsels of my world each week. Writing about family, love, & slow fashion.
To everyone who’s been loving this week’s notes, I’m so grateful you’ve let me know. Your comments, messages, even your silent presence lights up this space. Thank you for being here, for stumbling on these words and letting them be yours, too.
I love you!
